How Long Does An Asbestos Survey Take?

This guide sets out realistic on-site times and reporting turnarounds by property type and survey type, based on our current workbook.

Quick answer

For most flats and houses, a Management Survey takes 1–3 hours on site with the written report issued within 48 hours. Refurbishment Surveys take 2–5 hours, and Demolition Surveys take half a day or more. Larger commercial and communal blocks can take a full day.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

Can it be same day?+

Yes — for straightforward flats, we routinely visit and report inside 24 hours where needed.

Do I need to be there the whole time?+

No — as long as we have access, we can complete unattended.

Do bigger buildings scale linearly?+

Roughly. Complexity — voids, plant rooms, roofs — adds more time than floor area alone.
