For GP surgeries, dentists, clinics & NHS estates

Healthcare Building Asbestos Surveys

Healthcare estates are a special case: infection-control protocols, patient safety, CQC scrutiny and continuous occupation all bear down on the survey approach. We survey primary care and NHS secondary care with clinical protocols in mind — dust control, out-of-hours access, and a register the CQC and NHS estates function will recognise.

  • Infection-control aware working practices
  • Out-of-hours surveying (evenings, weekends)
  • CQC / NHS estates ready documentation
  • Enhanced DBS surveyors
  • Independent — no removal contracts
  • NHS PMO / framework experience

GP surgery & primary care surveys

Practice premises tend to be small, occupied continuously through clinic hours and refurbished piecemeal over decades. We survey out-of-hours (evenings and weekends), reinstate immediately, and issue a management plan that identifies which materials must not be disturbed by the next dental chair install or IT cabling job.

Dental practice surveys

Dental surgeries are heavily serviced — compressor rooms, X-ray suites, floor-mounted amalgam separators — and typically contain more ACMs in plant than in the clinical space. We survey the plant rooms, ceiling voids and service risers with particular care, and produce a register the CQC inspector will accept as evidence of the duty to manage.

Clinics, aesthetic & specialist premises

Independent clinics and aesthetic practices carry the same duty as NHS providers. We survey with a light touch during clinic downtime and — because we are independent — never turn a finding into a sales pitch for removal.

NHS estates, CQC & framework contexts

For NHS acute trusts and community estates we work under framework arrangements or one-off procurement, with full RAMS, infection-control aware SSoW and pre-attendance briefings for ward managers. Reports are provided in the NHS estates asbestos register format on request.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Who is the duty holder in a GP surgery?+

It depends on the lease: for GP-owned premises the partnership; for NHS Property Services or CHP-owned premises, the landlord retains the base build and the practice holds any tenant works. We can survey for either.

Can you survey while we're operating?+

Yes, out-of-hours. Evening and weekend slots are standard for healthcare work at no premium.

How does infection control affect the survey?+

We operate under the ward manager's or practice manager's SSoW. Enhanced dust control, negative-pressure enclosures where required, and clinical-grade PPE for surveyors are all standard.

Is the report accepted by CQC?+

The CQC doesn't accredit specific reports, but a compliant HSG264 register with a management plan is the evidence of duty to manage they will expect to see during a well-led review.

How much does it cost?+

Fixed price per building. GP surgery typical fees are modest; NHS acute is quoted per building on a site-visit basis.

Do you work through NHS frameworks?+

We can respond to LPP, NHS SBS and other framework tenders directly. Portfolio programmes for community trusts and PCNs quoted on a rolling basis.

Are your surveyors DBS-checked?+

Yes, enhanced DBS as standard.

What about listed / heritage healthcare buildings?+

See our listed building page. We handle Victorian workhouse conversions, listed asylums and heritage GP surgeries regularly.

Do you cover the UK?+

Yes — nationwide rota. Same fixed-price approach across all four nations.
