How much does asbestos testing cost in London?
Bulk sample analysis through a UKAS-accredited lab partner starts at £35 + VAT per sample. Consultant attendance to take samples on site in London is charged from £150 + VAT for a short visit. Air monitoring and 4-stage clearance are priced per visit.
How quickly do I get the results?
Standard lab turnaround for bulk samples is 24–48 hours from receipt. Same-day analysis is available on request for an additional fee. We email the signed certificate of analysis the moment it's released by the lab.
Can I take samples myself?
We strongly recommend you don't — disturbing a suspected ACM without controls releases fibres and breaches CAR 2012 in non-domestic settings. A consultant visit to take controlled samples is inexpensive and removes the risk.
What's the difference between testing and a survey?
Testing confirms whether a single material contains asbestos. A survey identifies every ACM in a building, scores its risk and produces a register. If you have one suspect material, testing is fine. If you need to comply with CAR 2012 or refurbish a pre-2000 building, a survey is required.
Which types of asbestos do you test for?
PLM analysis identifies all three commercially used asbestos types — chrysotile (white), amosite (brown) and crocidolite (blue) — as well as the less common tremolite, actinolite and anthophyllite forms.
